This reminds me of a time when I saw a bunch of zoomers talking about their "government names." I was like "wtf is a government name, what are you kids talking about??" Until I realized they were talking about their full, legal names. Their names are so stupid, and everyone's so collectively embarrassed about them (including the kids themselves), that it's basically never used. The only time these kids ever hear their own names (which they hate) are if the teacher is calling roll on day 1 of the class, or they're getting yelled at by angry adults. They've formed this entire complex about it not being their "real" name, dissociating themselves from it. Like, imagine cursing your child from the day of their birth with a burden like this. What's wrong with these parents? It seems to become more common every year.
