Our inability to keep the mud ball we are stuck on comfortable for us aside, a colder planet would be problematic for /kr/, since the peninsula it is on is basically flanked by two cold currents, so a colder planet would likely put northern /kr/ in subarctic climate (or cold oceanic if we decide the sea to the north is not bit enough for gyre formation), and southern /kr/ in tundra.
