Even more so with Minecraft's current combat mechanics, at least with modded pre-combat update you could just pull a Kirito and outspeed the modded boss or mob before it drained your health. That was sort of the charm of old Modded Playthroughs when it came to bosses unless the player was super undergeared and unprepared.
These days it's just really boring hit and run gameplay with inconcise timing and fuck-you hitboxes.
