>>98727308I think the biggest barrier for ESLs is listening comprehension and the ability to quickly respond. Especially in group collabs. It's pretty common for everyone to talk over eachother, and make English quips, jokes, sexual innuendos, idioms, sarcasm, and other figures of speech that are difficult for non-native speakers to rapidly parse in their head. Henya's been doing English collabs for a long time and still struggles in this aspect. Fast speaking vtubers like Geega, or ones that make tons of references like filian also have to slow down or simplify their speech in order to be properly understood. Collabs are still not a problem under these conditions, but it adds another stressor for already shy vtubers like Peo or Henya who are still a little anxious even when collabing in their native language.
