>>109574473I think Froot is in a similar case as Heavenly with Badger, and the whole GamerSupps cup thing (pre zen, 1st one)
A lot of content creator-derived products tend to work mainly towards the bigger benefactor and with the purpose of expanding into every niche bit of audience, instead of just going for fat whales. Pre-VTubers GamerSupps used to do this a lot, they aimed for big targets (TT, RussianBadger, OTK) and then they used that to aim at close audiences that were involved (Sydsnap, Heavenly, etc) which in their own might not have the same fame, but they have a niche audience that borders the one that's popular.
In this case, with Schmelon being popular, GEEGA has a pull to say "oh yeah you can benefit from working with them" and that gives the courage to work with said people, and since vtubers tend to be incredibly profitable to work with, it works really well for everyone. It also helps that Froot is an artist, so they don't have to split it off with a commissioned artist.
