On the merch fiasco, the main problem was that the inside of Pacifico Yokohama is actually very small. The floor map makes it look much bigger than it actually is. So even when I got there at 1pm there was already a giant line for the merch that kept growing.
The genius idea they had was that people would be let in as those currently in the venue left, but because the inside of the venue had not just the merch area, but also all the standees and flower bouquets and panels, no one actually left even after they bought their merch. So the line outside just never moved, and I decided at about 2pm that I was wasting the day just standing in it.
More and more people kept turning up and joining it not knowing how bad it was, and at 4pm they decided to just end sales and promised they would resell the venue-only merch after the show, and then online.
