It's not just a show, that's how he actually is. And from what I learned from people who like GFE, the same thing holds true. They also have to be menhera to some extent. He's not able to do that anymore mainly because he's taking meds now, connecting with friends and family, and working out. What makes that BFE/GFE so good is the neediness and showering with real love that gets reciprocated by the audience and not just a show he's putting on just for money. So now that he's better mentally, he doesn't need to have his mental health deteriorate for it (although he's still REALLY good at the BFE).
