>>81692878Shallower rivers, mainly. What really scares them is if something falls into the water. The surface kinda acts like a sound barrier (think of how it's hard to hear people screaming at a pool when you go underwater), so most noise doesn't make it, through, but any noise that does is very loud to fish. Conversely this is favorable when you're throwing your line in, the small movement and noise attracts their attention and they think its prey or carrion they can feed off of. I met a lot of local fishermen in SEA, mostly to buy cheap seafood like lobsters a, they tend to be quiet, patient and chill people... Not the catfish noodlers, those guys are crazy and some even have experience wrangling gators...
