>>7428561I read the reasoning of "the japs" (actually just some random person) and it was pretty dubious.
Monoe just said she went to a tentacle exhibition when she was still a student, not that it was in 2016. The 2016 date was the jp detective's conclusion from googling "tentacle exhibition" and only finding ones in 2013 and 2016 (確認出来る範囲で basically means "as far as I could tell").
Then they randomly assume it was the 2016 one and not the 2013 one. Even assuming it was the 2016 one (which there's no proof of), all that means is that Monoe was a student in 2016. That doesn't equate to her being underage in 2020 when she debuted in VOMS.
Then the jp detective literally says "assuming she's 19 now, she would have been 15 in 2016". WTF kind of logic is that? OK, what if she was 18 in 2016 (senior in high school)? That makes her 22 now.
Shitty logic all around. Basically they're not even trying to prove that she was underage when she joined VOMS, they're just trying to show that all this detective work they did *doesn't disprove* her being underage, which is worthless.
Personally I think they probably got the location of the tentacle exhibition correct, but I think it's totally possible or even likely that she attended the exhibition in 2013 and not 2016, or even on some other date which this jp genius wasn't able to find on google (not every irl event actually leaves evidence of it happening online, believe it or not, especially in Japan where link rot is rampant). And even if she did attend it in 2016, there's zero reason to assume that she was 15 years old at that time.
