Gameplay wise it was okay though, not great but there was potential there that the modding community made good on. The secret boss was fun to fight and some of the end game exploration was okay.
Overall its the absolute waste of potential that disappoints me the most about that game. Having a 2D/3D combination for a metroid game sounds like it'd be an awesome idea but they fucked it up with the garbage story that could have been an insight into Samus's backstory and really should have been set pre Metroid 1 all things considered
