Just because it's so soon after Monoe's graduation and Pika has obviously been using Kutsushita as a mood booster and as a way to prove how responsible she can be to her mom. She just got dealt a really bad hand twice in a row and I hope she doesn't beat herself up about it if the cat really can't be saved
