Perhaps they tested out bots and found that YT's system culled them out and looked suspicious, so opted to wait and see.
As I said, unmedicated ramblings, I personally think it's a bit of a stretch, but I'm always open to being convinced otherwise with more data that's founded on SOLID logic, not leaps.
