It's not the "I press a button and an algorithm creates an image all by itself", it's "the AI is walking a path paved by other people's hard effort while not rewarding them in any way" kind of paradigm we're living. Yes, I will bash AI any time I see it, because I refuse to live in a future where I get to fry my brains to endless AI slop before returning to my manual labour job for pennies. I'm already getting sick of seeing tons of cookie cutter slop ads hanging everywhere in my town.
