What I do is prompt at the base resolution size 512 by X and keep generating and refining until I find one I think would look good, then I copy the seed of the image and upscale it to double the resolution of the original (so 512 by 768 goes to 1024 by 1536) as well as enabling the "Highres fix" option. When you have the upscale latent space option enabled it brings out the detail, but its not perfect so I regularly find myself doing inpainting to get rid of awkward body parts or random extra things it added.
