She just kept at it, went through all the phases(following trends, giving away free art, taking comms for regular people, having a patreon, entering contests and not winning, entering contests and winning years later, selling merch at cons, taking jobs for kusoge and shitty LN, taking jobs drawing assets for mobile games, then loading screens, and then regular 3* and 4* characters, etc) until she became good and a respected pro in the field.
