Drawing on the screen and seeing what your hand is doing is essential to some people, others have a preference for old school tablets for various reasons like taking up less space on the table, or not having your hand in the way of what youre drawing, or disliking the feeling of drawing on glass with plastic. If you feel you have a very strong preference for one or the other stick with that one.
Try drawing similar things using one and the other and if you feel a difference in ease of drawing, it would probably be wise to choose that. If you don't feel a strong preference in that respect then look for best personal comfort for the way your drawing environment is set up and all that.
