I know most people go about their day thinking that any and all issues aside from terminal cancer can be fixed, but this is unfortunately not the case. There's lots of little niche cases where the doctors simply can't figure it out.
I've been in and out with doctors for more than 15 years now with my own throat problems, and have finally resigned myself to simply live with the pain. It sucks, but it's not much different from being in a car accident and losing a leg. You just learn to accept that there are certain things you can't do anymore.
All the more respect to Mumei for sticking with it as long as she has.
