For all we know, the Japanese fans that do that are viewed as attentionwhores by other Japanese fans as well. FUWAMOCO supposedly have also liked posts that show likes like this. The argument is that it shows gratitude for your oshi liking your stuff but to me it just seems like bragging. If it is true, I guess it's just a cultural difference.
