I think there are ways to get direct donation through another 3rd party thing like donationalerts but fee is around ~15%

I also firmly believe that your discoverability and recognition by brands closely tied to sub count. So if you would ever want to "make it" - this is very important thing. It is important for sponsorships and other deals.
