>>10704506Hololive as a brand is a hub in and of itself, with many sub hubs (headliners) that feature spokes (low interest chubas), which in turn interact with both the hub and sub hubs.
Headliners like HoloMyth had nothing but hubs which created a more inefficient point to point network. That's why growth stalled and people complained a out a lack of outside collabs.
Council added spokes to HoloMyth, with Kronii being the hub of her generation.
In contrast, Nijisanji's collab openness means that nobody really cares about their revolving array of spokes. Most people are in it for the point to point network that is Nijisanji EN. There's a fundamental lack of hierarchy to the branch and an impermanence to their collabs, making everything nor eor less just an ephemeral novelty.
tldr The hololive business model is the current most successful fomula which uses a digital variant of the streamer house configuration.
This is the same reason people may like Fate but not necessarily Carnival Phantasm. At a certain point, crossovers scale up to the point where nobody really gives a fuck about most of the people featured. That's when people lose interest.
