Despite some shortcomings (a.k.a.: mortal wounds), it's a pretty solid game and one of the best spinoffs I've ever seen, plus Yagami is a sickass MC, guy just flies when fighting, and normal diff lets you get away with button mashing (just look at koyoyoyo), Koyoyoyoyoyo is on Normal diff right? Even with the annoying blocks she should be fine either way, combat is still really smooth. I've heard that the sequel's combat is way better though. I hope she plays Lost Judgment too.
