Who knows what goes into that decision, maybe it's just that one is busy and they must agree on every like, so whichever one read it still appreciated it a lot.
I'll always remember them asking a ruffian "will you not mention your birthday?" when he superchatted without talking about it because they saw it on twitter. And he was surprised they knew, meaning they didn't give it a like or any kind of acknowledgement before. They see things, they appreciate it.
They want to see your sandwiches, why wouldn't they be happy about your supportive messages? Just trust that they either didn't see it or they appreciated it. Treat the non-spree likes as them liking it even more, rather than liking it at all.
