>>35063692nta but there's no real reason to use the fill tool to color things in when you've got layers other than pure timesaving. pic related is the same circle using the fill tool and with a second layer that's manually colored in (yes it's sloppy around the corners this was done in like thirty seconds.) Nevermind that if you want to get fancy and add highlights/shadows or blended colors etc. you're not gonna get far with just using the fill tool compared to doing things on separate layers.
