>>3614507Western culture still sees anime as some insanely disgusting form of cartoon, sure you can say some in Japan see it as that too, but it is still more widely accepted and even celebrated by normies over there. Unless its like, Dragon Ball Z, Speed Racer (for the boomers) or the flavor of the month anime, you will be seen as weird and odd. I remember having a conversation about anime at my old job and being seen as some sex pest for bringing up Angel's Egg. Even though none of them had ever seen it before. This goes for anything from Japan not considered "cool" or "hip" aka flavor of the month shit. Music, Tokusatsu, games, shit even J drama and actual Japanese films are looked down on. So when someone sees an anime chick on your screen playing games it mixes two things people sometimes see as childish or lame, anime and gaming. This isnt to say "hur gamers opressed bud", but it does go to show how for as "accepting" and "progressive" the west loves to tout it self to be, its all a fucking facade.
