Emphasize that she's 18 and characterize her as a somewhat more immature version of the real Suisei. You could make the fic an origin story of sorts; the whole case with the idol boyfriend being what eliminates all frivolousness and delusion she still has about being an idol and activates her true serious mode. Rising to the top in an instant as an 18-year-old fucks with her head: until now everything in her idol career has been too smooth and rose-colored, it feels like everything will go perfectly forever from now on. Then a kpop-tier boy idol prince (let's make him ~5 years older than her) enters and hits her with the perfect shoujo manga line.
