oh ffs
you know what? I'm just gonna say the unspoken offensive truth that none of you cowards are willing to say, with no regard for your triggered feelings:
the Council debuts were mostly kino actually and many people were even saying this at the time.
The CUBE shit and the countdowns were funny in a 'wtf are they even doing' kind of way and the anticipation for EN2 which was thought of as an impossibility was sky-high back then (people didn't think of EN as some ongoing thing with expected gens like JP back then, there was no 'EN' it was just Myth and IRyS was some weird DLC)
Sanner being an aussie was loved instantly by everyone, her blowing up the Earth in her debut - and then Fauna healing the Earth in hers - was kino and everyone thought Fauna's debut with the yandere moment where the stream 'shuts down' and goes dark and creepy was kino, everyone liked Kronii instantly and made millions cum as soon as she spoke, people even thought her stalling and then doing the 'chat was never real' or whatever bit was kino, people even liked Bae and how hard she leaned into be a RAT straight away and thought the 'aussie = upside down' shit was funny in a stupid way
autists like me even liked the chunnikino lorefaggotry at the time too, the idea that people hated it at the time is revisionism based only on the fact that they found out Omega was responsible after the fact
At the time, Council and all their weird debut choices and baggage seemed risky new and exciting and was a good way to follow-up/one-up Myth and their debut, it's only how things turned out in those early years with Sanner, Omega, Kronii etc that soured people's memories of it but the truth is early Council was always kino before everything unravelled and (You) will never take away my feelings of hype rushing home from work an cracking open a cold one to watch the debuts of these weird and wild new ENs that are a literal pantheon of deities with chuuni bullshit for no apparent reason
Advent and Justice meanwhile, as much as I love them now and as polished as they are, had very safe debuts and are just more of the same rather than the bizarre and exciting jump that Council was following after Myth
