i got it. so practically what happened was vesper was ayame's accomplice in murdering ina which is why she still hasn't came back from break. that's why vesper was suspended for "internal miscounduct" not only because it's rude to murder your coworkers but because vesper is actually ayame's boyfriend and that's fraternization. so while vesper is "suspended" he's actually on a two week vacation blowing ayame's back out and that's why ayame has also been gone for a week.
