>>34412107>>34412528>glyph & activatorOh, it’s good as long as it works! I’m still trying to digest the rest of the rentry so sorry for any mistakes I might make
I think glyph as soundwave works pretty well at least for Lofi’s magic since her lore and content is heavily tied to music and songs
and I haven’t worked out how others in V&U should be represented in magic>Koseum harvestGood question… I think if we assume Palkyries’ traits are somewhere between humans and opossums then they would probably have a shorter life. Definitely longer than actual opossums but I would assume they generally have a shorter generation turnover. At the same time though, since traditional Palkyrie lifestyle tend to be dangerous (which I imagine doesn’t help their shorter lifespan either), any Palkyries that manage to survive until elderly will have experience vital for the family/clan/settlement’s survival, so they’ll most probably not be dumped simply due to poor physical form. Still, given Liora’s lore and her whole valkyrie motif, I think Palkyrie beliefs probably still emphasize on dying in the glory of battle (against monsters or enemies) instead of on their deathbed. Maybe it’s conventional for Palkyrie elders to turn their focus on training their young once they feel themselves too frail to fight anymore, and once they’ve trained up someone they deem worthy (and have a party over it), they’ll basically commit suicide either by going on a last hunt, or have the most worthy disciple do the honor? I think that’s a good balance between the austerity caused by hostile environment and being overly terrible (but maybe that’s just my own bias speaking)
A funny side thing about the season name’s that I found out Korean has at least 2 native words for harvest (the other one being 거두다) so I originally planned for Mekeum to be named after the other word and have both season name translate to “season of harvesting” despite the different nuances. I figured it might sound too confusing but at the same time that might be something fun to toy with>atmospheric phenomenaYeah, they’re pretty amazing even after we know what’s going on in them (and even some that we still can’t figure out fully) so it must be a very shocking sight for our ancestors! /vnug/’s seasons put a lot of focus on the changing environment since while the wildlife *might* kill you, the hostile weather *will* if you’re not careful. I think anything that unusual will definitely be part of the mythology/folklore if they’re common enough. Red sprites are definitely on the list in terms of how amazing (and terrifying) they look, but at the same time I find it odd that they aren’t mentioned before 1730 – I’m pretty sure something like that would be recorded in ancient times if witnessed
