You can't successfully do shit like that without heavily scripting everything and getting rid of interaction, which obviously lessens the appeal. It would be like expecting an actor to nail every single take on their first try during a movie production while also improvising every line. It's impossible. The only way they could possibly succeed is by abandoning the character they're supposed to be representing, which obviously lessens the appeal. No matter what happens they would be be making major sacrifices.
