There's genuinely no reason that you'd have to completely cut contact and stop identifying as a specific persona besides a corpo deal.
If it was any other job or situation she would still be able to make occasional life updates on her twitter or discord. The only other alternatives would be by choice, like deciding to quit the internet for your own personal reasons which doesn't sound like the situation based on what her friends have said.
