But if you watch the clip I linked again, Okayu can play that role to perfection. Matsuri in a classic M but she can be terribly overwhelming if you allow her to take the reins and she’ll reduce you to the “punchline” if you can’t keep up but Okayu put her in her place with a single word or two.
Ao was a bumbling mess, a classic “loserboy, except girl” at most and she couldn’t possibly play that role even if she was born a thousand times “Re:Zero / Groundhog Day” style.
There are some roles only a natural can play. You can’t pretend to be an M, it takes Matsuri to pull it off. Same with being the “harem protagonist” and it’s no wonder Ao graduated
