I have a new rrat, although it's not really a rrat, it's likely just straight up the explanation. IdolES didn't get the numbers Aviel hoped for, so his reasoning is that they can't get a large number of members anyway so they might as well fish for whales and hope they get a few on the hook with expensive (but low effort) membership tiers to get the money that way instead. It does benefit the whales, but it's at a pretty huge cost to both the casual viewer and the talents themselves. Idol is essentially saying there's no growth potential in these talents, so they decided to try cashing in as soon as possible on these illusory whales instead. These are very poor business decisions and I hope they come from some newfag ES manager rather than from Aviel himself, because otherwise his decision-making has taken a fucking nose-dive, which is concerning for the company as a whole. I'm curious about what their investors would think about this.
