She said she would have been open to mixed/male gens if Kawaii was Holo or Niji size. She sees the "homo question" from a quintessentially female point of view of protecting herself from unwanted male attention.
Her point was that Kawaii was so small that any male auditioning would most likely be a fan of the girls and would use this opportunity to get close to them. As a woman this makes sense but the audience for female vtubers is like 90% male, this point of view while understandable is not how that fanbase sees the problem. The problem from the male audience point of view is feeling like a third wheel and damaging the unique relationship between streamer and chat.
Nami talks a good game and says she understands her fans but all her undestanding comes from a very female POV. She means well but she is usually off the mark when tackling those "parasocial" questions. It's not a problem most of the time though because the results of her misunderstandings are still passable: she never had male collabs in Kawaii, she never talked about her boyfriends, males friends appearance in her stories are few and far between.
