>>30097085>>30097136I'm not 100% on what the latest chuubanite consensus is beside on what comfyanon wrote in the document. Does chuubanite still leave the element/material it binded with when all of it's energy has been expended? That would change how the gun is actually the design quite a bit. But I guess pic rel is what you are thinking about, since irl percussion cap only activates the charge not.
The gun would suffer from quite a lot of issue from accuracy, stopping power and range. Depending on the exact composition of the cuubanite and activator the reaction could also be different. Some would perform like air rifles but worse in terms of ballistics because the projectile is only accelerated when the hammer strikes the chuubanite. But some could also produce almost just as much bang as normal firearms, but would still be subjected to the same issue, albeit less so, and with it having more power behind it, also producing some noticeable flash and heat from the violent reaction. I could see it as something used as an assassin's weapon, but due to how the propellant is it would still be inferior to air rifles, but the obvious advantage would be factors like the relative cost, maintenance and training, not it's power.
