You have a lot of potential sources of inspiration to pull from: raygun gothic visuals, the bright colors contrasted by fading and wrinkling of old sci-fi book covers, fonts used in classic alien movies, raygun and cheesy alien alert noises, etc. Just find parts of your setup and think, "What can I add her to make viewers feel like they stumbled upon the sci-fi section of a book store" in the same way Picky evokes "accidentally stumbling into a bug themed 1980s Japanese commercial."
