It's all visual shorthand, vague tentacles emerging from behind but nowhere specific, mainstream supernatural facades carved around the most surface level concept of a "ghost" or "dragon" or "whore. Half of the visual shorthand is just "whore" and synonyms of "whore." The exposed midriff, tight and shapely legwear, cleavage in your face, zettai ryouki, something that is ostensibly a bra or bikini top, functionally useless outfits that only serve to expose skin in new and illogical ways. These are all visual shorthand for "uncreative slut" and it really just ends there. Every detail of these designs is entirely surface deep, they do not tell a cohesive story and there is no narrative to extrapolate even if you try. The most you get it one sentence, you can not build a discernable goal or through line with any of these. Ironically Pink Cat's literal goo bikini is the best design out of all of these because it has no real cluttering elements to muddy the focus of the design. It's possible to extract a character and motive from her design that engages with the schizophrenic brain batter than any of the others.
Schizophrenics see story and meaning where there is none inherently, and the best Vtuber designs are the ones that give enough cohesive detail to allow schizophrenics a chance to at least write a full page or two of story in their heads. When you look at the generic whoretuber you don't get that. One of the best Vtuber designs going by this metric is actually Dya but a good portion of that has to do with her background and overall design sense.
