Viewership might stay roughly the same or even go up in terms of raw numbers in a prime timeslot, which sounds good on paper, but if a talent is sharing that timeslot with multiple other talents in the same company then there's a good chance that several of those viewers are trying to juggle watching two or more streams at once without being fully engaged in any of them, or worse, not being engaged in most of them at all and just having them on in the background while they give all their attention to one stream.
I think this is something that isn't really brought up much because it's not reflected by raw CCV and isn't easy to gauge in general, but I know from experience that it does happen, and I think it might be worth taking into consideration for vtubers who value having the full attention of their audience.
TL;DR a viewer isn't always actually viewing, especially in a crowded timeslot.
