Its that or the urge for higher fidelity visuals means that there's just not enough working manhours to add every single bit of content 1:1, or modified combat systems mean they would have to rework entire combat encounters, rooms, and boss fights in order to compensate for the fact that your character can move or shoot.
There's all number of possible dumb reasons.
