I try to throw out some questions every now and then but it's not always successful.I'm no streamer or professional viewer but I think that getting chat involved hinges on creating discussion that makes them want to get involved. for example in monster hunter streams you have a couple of people talking about their memories of the game and then the discussion courses organically about tangents and stuff. you have to spark a conversation that isn't one sided, and it doesn't have to be related to the game itself, just things that would want to make viewers talk. I think moriko does it well, her chat is very active and there's a lot of conversation going on so you might wanna steal some ideas from her
you want to start the conversation and let viewers continue it but fan the flames every once in a while
