The problem isn't that they input read, it's that they input read AND they blatantly cheat and do shit you can't.
The "going back and forth on it" part for me is when Soulsfags, especially for Elden Ring, bitch about it. Even though those games input read specifically at the times it SHOULD, to punish the player for being a little bitch that thinks you should be able to sippy whenever you want or that the game shouldn't delay attacks to rollcatch specifically as a reaction to you rollspamming. If it's an opening to attack, it's an opening to sip, stop thinking you can do it at all times and play smart, the game is literally trying to teach you that.
