On the benefits of therapy: I think it's important to find a therapist you feel comfortable speaking with. If you feel like therapists encompass certain stereotypes that makes you uncomfortable, then look for a mental health counselor you feel best fits your needs. Doesn't even have to be a professoinal counselor. Talk to your father. It's Father's Day this coming Sunday in the US. Talk your brothers, your friends, talk to your mother. Do reach out to the positive influences in your life. It's good for your mind and soul.
