Vesper has alluded to that Altare has gone through ALOT of trauma, so I like to think that the boys are VERY aware of their leader's extreme horrible coping habits, but aren't fully aware that he has (You) captive. They know he has a very intense bloodlust and have seen it firsthand, but they don't want to speak up since.. It's just how Altare copes.
