to asian anons here, have any of you experienced being mistaken for a japanese despite not being japanese? because i did, only because i lined up for an anime film that was free of charge because it was a program of some sort, and there were a limited number of ticket being given. when the movie was about to start, there was a line where we had to wait for the specific time for the cinema to open. in that line, one woman requested me to save her position in line because she needed to pee in a restroom which was just close by the cinema (cinema is within a mall, and it's very rare to find a stand alone cinema in my country because malls are still thriving here). i nodded in agreement. she than asked me if i could understand bisaya, and i replied "oo kasabot kog bisaya". she was shocked because she thought I was japanese or a hafu. I'm not. that was not the first time i was mistaken for a japanese too. even my father was also mistaken for a japanese.
sorry. i just wanted to share this because i just suddenly remembered it. it happened 4 years ago. here's a millie as my apology
