So, genuine question. Have you ever cannibalized an old work? I have an entire work of fiction I've never published, never put out anywhere, meant as another fanfic for another fanbase I used to be an author for. I was unhappy with the ending and got tired writing the Bad Ends, took a break and never got back to it. That was almost a year ago. I feel like with Error, it sort of fits the setting. I was considering retooling it. Is this insincere? It's a work I'm genuinely happy with, barring the ending - no matter how much I retooled the story, it felt forced and off, something which sat disgustingly in my mouth. I feel like if I scrapped that ending entirely and reworked it to be something chuuba related, it could flourish. Has anyone else ever done this?
