It's hard to find the right balance. IRL it can be tougher too, since unless I'm actively looking to introduce myself or am hosting in some capacity, I'm quiet and polite until I'm comfortable then I'm too loud without realizing it most of the time... And getting in on your head about how annoying you think you're being sucks... Most of the time people aren't bothered in my experience but sometimes it's just not the time or place for someone
