On the software and models side, I expect there to be a protracted battle until it becomes government spending only because the capital costs are too great to keep battling it out. But I expect we'll only see a portion of that initial effort be worth it for the average consumer. I expect to see a 1 trillion parameter LLM in the near future because of how batshit crazy everyone is with scaling shit up and that can only be run on a server costing several grand if you hyperoptimize everything to run on CPU at dirt slow speeds.
