Hololive doesn't NEED to hire second stringers with "less expectations" or whatever. People watch debut streams only for the model, voice and a VERY general idea of the talent, and it obviously doesn't define what the talent will become. This was most obvious with Kaela and Chloe's debut. Kaela being considered "boring" at debut, but finding an audience for herself by the sheer power of grind and her laid back vibe. Chloe starting off as the ultimate burikko but quickly adopting a laid back "stinky orca" vibe, instantly shedding the "troublesome otaku" audience but getting an audience that vibed better with her as a result.
Ame and Korone's debuts were considered absolute catastrophes, but even then the girls never took the blame for any of it, and it didn't stop them from finding their own audience.
The only thing people expect from new talents is that they bring something "new" to Hololive. Whether it be a new personality, new vibe, new talent or skill, or hell just new dynamics in general. This was even what their own fucking scouts looked for in new talents.
And sure, maybe people are more used to having better tech, backgrounds, assets and stuff from the newer debuts - Cover is pretty big now after all. But the girls themselves? All they needed to do was find diamonds in the rough and bring them into the spotlight. Their scouts are top tier, even ReGloss - barring Ao - is a group filled with talent that push in so many directions.
The only thing their stupid branding bullshit did was deprive them of being "Hololive" and stopped them from getting the initial sub boost and relevance.
The holo girls obviously noticed this IMMEDIATELY which is why they went all in to try and salvage the entire thing with multiple shill streams, collabs and other stuff to make them "feel welcome".
Imagine if that didn't happen. Imagine if they had just ignored them like they did for the homo branch, and just treated them as a separate project entirely.
You don't have to. Because that's exactly what happened to both Miko, Suisei and Azki, thanks to being in "non hololive" projects and being prevented from being asked for collabs.
I fucking guarantee you that ReGloss would've had the collab restriction initially, because they'd need to "stand out" on their own and get a "new audience" without relying on the holo girls. Some dumbass dinosaur would likely have thought of it and even pushed for it.
Cover need to realize that the "Box" consumes anything and everything. They cannot push past it's gravity. Hololive IS the Box, and the Box it will remain.
There's very little issue in working "within" the box to push these new diamonds in the rough, rather than depriving them of the Hololive name.
And once they are forced to merge these girls with JP within a year, I fucking hope they don't get "adventurous" with retarded bullshit that pulls away from the Box.
