The WNBA just had its most popular season in it's entire history in 2024. The arrival of a new star Caitlin Clark bumped ratings and attendance in games to a level not seen before.
They lost 40 Million dollars this year. This is the TWENTY SIXTH STRAIGHT YEAR the WNBA has failed to turn a profit. The WNBA has LITERALLY never made a SINGLE FUCKING DOLLAR in profit since it was founded in the spring 1996. If the NBA, which owns 60% of the WNBA (75% when NBA owner's individual stakes are factored in) can continue to eat losses like that for 26 years, then yeah Cover will keep the Homos going forever and it wouldn't be that big a deal except they also eat up studio time and staff time.
