>>90576063>>90576191>>90576552The problem is that the suits (and a good portion of normalfag fans) think that Hololive is selling a product. This is easy to think if you only watch clips, big events like concerts, or if you read Cover's quarterly finance reports. On paper alone, you would see that merchandising and big events like concerts bring in the most revenue by far. So these idiot finance majors start trying to "optimize cashflow" by getting rid of the things that lose money (paying talents and streaming) and increasing the things that make money (merchandise and concerts). What they and many fans fail to realize is that Hololive is actually in the service industry. There's a reason it exploded with Holo Fantasy and why they are known as the "cabaret generation" by the Japanese. The girls are the service, the service is what is being sold. You take lonely men and make them fall in love with your charming ladies via CONSTANT REPEATED INTERACTION (cannot stress this enough) and then those men want to support those ladies by buying their merch and going to their concerts. You think I actually need acrylic stands or plushies? Fuck no, I buy them to support my Holos and because they might notice me if I post pictures on Twitter which in turn helps keep Hololive trending and does free advertising for them.
Hololive basically had the most successful cabaret club in existence and now some paper pushers have come in and looked at the financials and drawn the wrong conclusions from it. "Hey people are buying a lot of champagne. They must really like champagne. Let's offer more champagne. Why are we paying these hostesses so much? We don't even need this many girls, that's money we could be spending on champagne. Look at these reports, champagne sells the most by far, clearly these men are coming to buy champagne."
It's idiotic. The people in this picture are wearing products yes, but they are celebrating the services provided by the girls.
