I'd like to mention that Ike struggles to "convert his age" while Luca and Mysta easily did it. Shu looked like he was born thousands of years ago, which justifies his vague age. Vox is a ~400 year old demon. The "past Ike" from his lore video looked like he was born in an early-modern era. Why would it be difficult for him to convert his age? Is he suffering from time travel amnesia? Or did he just lose track of all the years he spent hopping between timelines? Wait no, actually, I'd like to imagine it IS amnesia. Because Tentacle God Ike lost control of his powers which caused him to exterminate the Earth and spent years all alone in Earth until he realized the shit he just did and managed to reign control of his powers. So he hopped through an alternate universe with "diamond city lights" where Elira and co. exists. He finds himself at the random place, broke down in a random alleyway but tried to live a normal life as a simple novelist. He got in Nijisanji and met his friends. Happy ever after.
But maybe something went wrong along the way. Because the future sure doesn't like bright. All? of Noctyx were born in a dystopian world. The world was "stuck in the abyss".
You can see the future get more fucked up progressively; Alban (dirt poor, abused and had to steal to live), Uki (futuristic world where it was influence vs without), Sonny (a time where they now had access to portal back in time), Yugo (literally a full-blown dystopian world with androids); and insert Fulgur somewhere (post-apocalyptic city-state, 100+ years from now). Maybe Ike was the cause. Maybe he lost his grip the second time, which caused him to travel farther into the future to scout the magnitude of his actions. Maybe that was when he met Yugo and decided to be his teacher. Why Yugo? I don't fuckign know. Maybe Ike felt Yugo's love for music and desire for freedom and it reminded him of himself. Let's just say he went back the third time in the present, years before the second incident took place. Where he woke up in his room. He planned on fixing things after seeing what the future looked like. Except this time he doesn't remember much; not what he did in the past and not what he's about to do again. And it's the responsibility of others to prevent whatever it is to happen. (Shu's "chosen by gods to monitor people theory"; Enna was sent to heaven to mend people's heart, and met Ike. Nina was kicked out of heaven and met Ike. Two fucking dragons, a fairy from a different universe (virtual fairyland), a hundred year old mermaid, literal satan, a witch of calamity, a fucking ghost, a demon... most of them are strong and have powers. They all met Ike. Is it simply just fate or... are the gods pulling some strings? "The gods sees all" after all.
Together, they form bonds and relationships that help prevent the second destruction. You could say that they were the "hope in the dark." They were the shimmering light that will guide him through the night. Somewhere in this Ike fucked me too. I'm going to die under his hands I just know it. I'm sorry if you read all that.
